I hope he'll be all right. He certainly seems to be in high enough spirits, so -- so there is that, at the very least! How bad could things possibly be there? Surely now that matters have begun to settle, there, they'll be allowed on their way, and everything will be just fine. They'll continue on to whichever city they were headed toward, and all of those nasty rumours will stay far, far behind them, where they belong!
Yes, I'm quite sure of it. I won't bother myself with this dreadful research any longer, since there is absolutely no way they'll have any need for it.
Perhaps I should write to Lauren, though ... I wonder if I asked her plainly, if she could tell Amie I had spoken with her, if the subject came up. Lauren is well acquainted with Jack, isn't she? She surely knows that there is no reason at all to stir up drama unecessarily. Maybe ... maybe when Jack tells me they've been allowed to go, after all, and she's sure to be in a good mood. Perhaps then.
