(no subject)

It rained all day yesterday, and just about all night, too, judging by how long the sound of it kept me awake! And this morning there were puddles everywhere, and I wanted to wear my nice fur-lined slippers, but I was so afraid of ruining them in the wet, I left them at home. Poor Marigold let her skirts slip on the walk from her carriage, and she spent the entire evening with this dreadful stain on her dress all day long. I do hope the dress wasn't ruined, but I suppose it must be, poor thing. She hardly seemed to notice at all, but I'm sure she was just putting on a strong face!

I will say, however, that I do love the way the gardens smell after an autumn shower. I should have liked to take a walk, but the pathways are all so muddy, right now, I suppose I'll have to wait a few days more. I wouldn't want to slip and fall in all these nice new clothes!

Oh, and Rebecca, the entire Court was full of whispers about how happy you and Colin seemed. Why, I think you did more dancing than the rest of us put together! Do you have any idea when the wedding will be, yet?
