We did do our best. It's horribly unfair of Philip to parade about this way, discrediting Amelie however he can simply for the sake of his own petty amusement. I should say a thing or two on her behalf to Josiah, I'm absolutely certain that he and Skyler could think of some suitabe way to knock him down a peg or two! Or more. The way his head has been swelling since the celebration, I'm surprised he still fits through doorways, anymore!
Oh, it just isn't fair. Aside from that outrageous unpleasantness, the night was so wonderful. Why could he just not let the night be perfect, like it should have been? Princess Kelita was so very radiant, I've never seen her so perfectly composed. She and Agi do make a handsome couple, everyone agrees. It was just magical, the whole evening, and without Philip's posturing it surely would have become one of my most treasured memories.
Hmph.
And I don't like this business between Amelie and Lyle any better, either. It's so awkward, and he still casts me such scandalous glances, when Amelie isn't looking! He just can't help himself, he's so beyond the realm of the decent I doubt he could even describe the ideal if the question were put to him in earnest.
